International highlight projects City District Monaco Freiham

In Munich’s west, the forward-looking Freiham city quarter is taking shape on roughly 350 hectares—providing a vibrant home for about 25,000 residents and an attractive workplace for 15,000 people.

The award-winning design for the new district centre follows the site’s master plan and forms the striking gateway to the residential and commercial area.

Our Contribution
For this prestigious project we had the privilege of creating a very special highlight:

the oversized exposed-concrete columns that give the ensemble its unmistakable identity.

Precision & Scale
Each column was prefabricated to millimetre accuracy and assembled on site—despite its impressive dimensions.

Materiality & Aesthetics
Natural stone aggregate, a carefully coordinated colour palette, and finely finished surfaces merge seamlessly with the tactile quality of the façade.

Structure & Design
The columns not only perform structural duties; as a design feature they define the welcoming character of the district centre.
